Comments:
As the second punk rock band to be formed, I say that this album is the most heavy and above all else AWESOME punk album of the 1970's. This made a huge impact on the 1980 modern punk bands such as Bad Religion and The Adolescents with the fast paced style of the Ramones and the less ska more punk style of the Sex Pistols. Though, of course, this album was not the full punk style but it was just perfect for a punk band of the 70's. Johnny Rotten's vocals were not very "punkish" but Steve Jones' guitar style was very melodic and set the limit of punk guitaring for the res of the 70's bands. After that, the new bands that emerged became harder and gave the Sex Pistols a run for their money. Even so, I rated this album 4/5 because it was the best album I had that was made before 1991 (known to some music fanatics as "The Year That Punk Broke"). The Sex Pistols have always been the same but, of course, their rebellious style broke down after bassist John Ritchie (better known as Sid Vicious) died but the punk musical style has NEVER EVER worn off. It's hard to believe that their the oldest remaining punk band (now that the Ramones have broken up) and they are incredibly old (Johnny Rotten himself is in his early 50s). Well, I think that's all I gotta say, so BYE!
